Sporty, stylish and indeed flashy as the name implied, Instep Flash Jogging Stroller though affordable priced, is packed with quality features you will only find in more expensive jogging strollers.
For active parents who want to combine a stroll in the park with their toddlers, brisk power walks, and some jogging or running exercises, there could be nothing better than the InStep Flash Fixed Wheel Jogger, especially if you are shopping for a running stroller on a budget.
Available in single or double stroller, you can choose a style that will allow you enjoy outdoors together as a family, taking one or two kids to the park, sightseeing, shopping at the mall, or off road jogging.
The fixed front wheel of the Instep Flash is particularly suited for running, as it is more stable and tracks better than a swivel wheel stroller at straight line. Performance and speed control is also superior with the bicycle styled hand brake that is conveniently located on the handle bar.
The InStep Flash jogger is ergonomically designed and sturdily built to give toddlers enjoyable riding experience, day after day. And it comes with great safety features which can lay any parent’s mind at rest. The stroller is spacious and comfortable, so kids and their toys and books can travel together. There’s a lot to say about this jogger, so let’s take a close look at its features:
The Instep Flash is now retired and may not be available to buy from from reputable online stores. It was a very good fixed front wheel jogging stroller for runners. We recommend the Kolcraft Sprint Pro Jogging Stroller as a great alternative fixed wheel jogger that is as affordable as the the Instep Flash. The features are similar to that of the Jeep Overland that it replaced.
The Kolcraft Sprint Pro is an affordable front fixed wheel jogging stroller that is a great, and I would even say a better alternative to the Instep Flash jogger stroller.

Features and Benefits of the InStep Flash Jogging Stroller:
The two-toned appearance of the Instep Flash in grey and bright orange makes it very appealing to both parents and toddlers. It has a strong construction frame which makes it dependable, no matter which terrain you’re on. Though economically priced compared to brands like the BOB and Baby Jogger, the design is elegant with a lot of thoughtfully features you and your baby will enjoy.
The standard features include a parent tray that comes as standard, a rubberized handle grip which is slip-resistant and comfortable, and an in-built mechanism to prevent accidental fold-ups.
Folding System and How Compact:

With a dual trigger mechanism, Instep Flash stroller folds easily into a compact size that can be transported in the trunk of your car, or put away in storage. You can quickly pop out the wheels, so the stroller folds even smaller to fit into car trunks with limited space.
Baby Safety Features:
As a member of JPMA (Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association), Instep takes the safety of their jogging strollers very seriously. Its products are tested by an independent laboratory and measures up to the ASTM standard which ensures that each toddler in these strollers is absolutely safe.
Its baby safety features include an adjustable five point safety harness that is richly padded to fit your comfortably, but yet very securely hold them on the stroller. The hand brake, styled like a bicycle brake, has a lever that is conveniently located on the stroller handle which helps to bring the stroller to a quick stop. The braking system gives parents more control of the stroller without relying on pulling back on the handle to slow the speed of Instep Flash.
Lastly, its handle grip is specially rubberized so that it’s both slip-resistant and comfortable. It is also JPMA certified for safety. To shield children from the sun in all directions, it has a canopy that you can retract in 5 positions.
InStep recommends that toddlers six months and older should use its strollers, not below. You will find similar recommendation with all reputable manufacturers of jogging strollers, as babies not old enough to hold their head up unsupported should not use a jogging stroller without using a compatible infant car seat.

How Comfortable for a Baby and Easy to Push?
Its seating is padded enough for children to sit in it for long periods. It is also ergonomically designed for comfort and safety. As a fixed wheel jogging stroller, turning is not as easy as you will find with swivel wheel strollers. Front fixed wheel baby joggers are designed for better stability and tracking on straight lines when running with a stroller.
Slightly lighting the front wheel, and turning the stroller on the rear wheel is how to handle any fixed wheel jogging stroller like the Instep Flash when turning at corners. The hand brake also helps to control and push the stroller.
Tires, Wheels and Braking System
The Instep Flash tires are large, pneumatic or air filled, and are all 16″ in diameter on molded aluminum rims. The air filled tires make the stroller easy and comfortable to push in any terrain. Apart from the hand brake, the stroller has a footed operated brake that keeps it stationary when you come to a stop.
Available Styles and Designs

The Instep Flash is available as a single or double fixed front wheel jogging stroller. Both are styled in an older model that is in bright orange fabric with grey edges, which richly complements the light grey color of the frame and rim.
The new model of Instep Flash jogging stroller is styled in green fabric with grey stripes and edges. The green colored newer model is just as flashy as the older orange design, offering parents more choices of colors.
Size and Capacity of Instep Flash Strollers
The single stroller weighs nearly 24 lbs and measures 22.5” wide x 54″ Deep x 41.5”. It can seat a child with a maximum weight of 50 lbs.
The Instep Flash double stroller is obviously lager than the single, weighing 37 pounds and measuring 32″ wide x 53″ Depth x 41.5″ High. The Double Flash stroller has capacity to carry two children with a total maximum weight of 100 pounds.
The undercarriage basket on the baby jogger is huge, offering ample storage for toys, diapers, snacks and other kiddy stuff you may like to bring along when outdoor with your child.

How Much Should you be Prepared to Pay?
Buying online will get you the best deal on the Instep jogging stroller. The list price you will find varies widely from $130 for the single on the manufacturers website, to $179.99 for the double on Amazon. However, at the time of writing this review, Amazon is discounting the single and double Instep Flash strollers at 48% and 17% respectively.
At such a big discount, the single was priced at just under $110 with free shipping.
If you head to Amazon today, you may still get yourself the same bargain on the jogging stroller. Another good thing about buying from Amazon is their hassle free return policy. If you change your mind about the Instep Flash baby jogger, simply return it in the original packing, and you will get your money back.

What Others are Saying About Instep Flash Jogging Stroller
“I bought it for my grand daughter and it works fine. Easy to put together and it works fine on pavement or rougher roads.”

“Plenty of storage, collapsible, sturdy. For the money, I am impressed!!”
Any Complaints?
As a fixed well jogger, just as with any other brand, parents find that turning the Instep Flash at corners is not as easy as with a swivel wheel jogging stroller. You will need to lift the stroller slightly on its rear wheel to make a turn. It is not really very difficult, but that is how you turn any fixed front wheel baby jogging stroller at corners.
Some parents with small car find it bulky to fit into the trunk of their cars, particular with the double Instep Flash jogging stroller. If the wheel is not properly fitted, you may find the stroller veering to the side.
Pros:
- Sturdy, well-built and safe for children
- Seats two toddlers comfortably
- Works well on uneven terrain
- Good for tall parents
- Perfect for power walking and for the outdoors
- Easy to set up, clear instructions
- Lightweight
- Value for money
- Thoughtfully designed to have special storage space for keys, money, etc
- Easy locking wheels at the rear
Cons:
- Rides for babies would have been smoother, if the Instep Flash jogger had a rear shock absorber that is available in in more expensive fixed while running strollers like the BOB Sport Utility.
- The jogger veers to the side if the front wheel is not properly aligned.
- Though strongly built, the Instep Flash is not as sturdy as the more costly BOB Sport utility fixed wheel jogger.
My Recommendation
If you are shopping for a fixed wheel jogging stroller, and the high cost of some of the top brands like Baby Jogger and BOB is a concern, the Instep Flash is now retired, but the Kolcraft Sprint Pro Jogging Stroller is even a better choice that may fit your budget. In my research, you will not find many jogging strollers within this price, with as many features and accessories thrown in as standard with the stroller.
The Instep Flash is no doubt a budget jogging stroller, but since you may not find it available to purchase anymore, the Kolcraft Sprint Pro Jogging Stroller another quality and affordable jogger that will serve you and baby well as an active parent.
I need to get the seat replaced on the Instep. The belts are all dry rotted. Where can I obtain the seat replacement.
